Severe Weather Refuge Locations

During severe weather events, the “Severe Weather Refuge” buildings listed below are open during normal day-to-day business hours for use by OSU students, employees and university guests.

For those university individuals not on campus when a warning is sounded you are encouraged to either shelter in place or seek an alternative safe location. If you choose to find alternative protection it is recommended that you leave well in advance of any approaching severe weather. Do not wait until you see or hear the tornado warning, it may be too late.

If sheltering in place, get as low as you can. A basement below ground level or the lowest floor of a building offers the greatest safety. Put as many walls between yourself and the outside as possible. Avoid windows at all cost! Read additional severe weather and tornado tips.
