The Stillwater Police Department received a call at 1:35 a.m. on May 19 about an alleged stolen phone and where it was appearing on GPS. An OSU police officer was in the area and available to assist. 

The 35-year-old suspect ran from police and refused to comply with multiple commands. The OSU PD officer tackled the subject, and he was taken into custody with the help of SPD. A video was circulating on social media of the event and, in the interest of transparency, more information was warranted. The subject was unharmed and booked into jail for alleged drunkenness and obstruction of justice. The phone was recovered at the scene.
