OSUPD offers women's self-defense course

The OSU Police Department is offering the Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) Basic Self-Defense Course this fall. This is a nationally recognized program that teaches realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women, beginning with situational awareness, prevention, and risk reduction, and progressing to hands-on defense skills.
The course is taught by R.A.D. instructors and consists of 12 hours of training. The course is four hours a night covered over three nights.
Course Details:
- Open to women of all ages. (Under 18 requires parent/guardian permission.)
- 12 hours of training over three sessions
- Session 1: Tuesday, Oct. 28 | 5:30–9:30 p.m.
- Session 2: Tuesday, Nov. 4 | 5:30–9:30 p.m.
- Session 3: Thursday, Nov. 6 | 5:30–9:30 p.m.
- Location: OSU Wes Watkins Center (810 W. Hall of Fame Ave.)
- Cost: $30 for first-time participants
