OSU POLICE DEPARTMENT Crime Log Instructions Crime log case ...

OSU POLICE DEPARTMENT. Crime Log Instructions. Crime log case numbers do not run sequentially. The OSU Police Department assigns a case number for all reportable activities, both criminal and non-criminal. Only case numbers generated for criminal activity are listed in the crime log. Crimes are in chronological order. The most recent crimes are at the bottom of the list. The crime log incidents may not match the crime statistics, as the crime log is compiled using the State of Oklahoma Criminal Statutes, and the crime statistics are required by law to be compiled using the Federal Uniformed Crime Reporting crime definitions. Hard copies of the Crime Logs are also available at the OSU Police Department during normal business hours. Note: Incidents with a case number that start with “NA” involve information received from other University Administrators, who are defined by federal law as “Campus Security Authorities”. These administrators share non-identifying information, with the OSU Police Department, that is provided by the victim. In these incidents, the victim did not file an official police report and therefore, it is not always possible to provide information regarding the five areas typically covered in the Crime Log, i.e. (Nature/Classification, Date Reported, Date Occurred, Time, General Location, Off Campus (Y or N), Disposition. Because an official report was not filed, there will be no disposition. These incidents are reported to the OSU Police Department for statistical purposes and are posted to the Crime Log as the OSU Police receives the information. According to Federal Law, an institution may withhold any of the required fields of entry, i.e. the nature, date, time, location and/or disposition if any of the following conditions apply:. 1. Law prohibits the disclosure. 2. If disclosure would jeopardize the confidentiality of the victim. 3. If disclosure would jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or the safety of an. individual. 4. If disclosure would cause a suspect to flee or evade detection. 5. If disclosure would result in the destruction of evidence. 1. OSU POLICE DEPARTMENT. ACTIVITY SUMMARY. OCTOBER 2021. NATURE (CLASSIFICATION). CASE NUMBER. DATE REPORTED /. TIME. DATE OCCURRED /. Earthquake Safety

Since October 2013, the rate of earthquakes in Oklahoma has been up by about 50 percent. As a result of the increased seismicity, the Oklahoma Geological Survey has increased the number of monitoring stations and now operates a seismograph network of 15 permanent stations and 17 temporary stations.

Severe Storms and Tornadoes

Monitor weather reports and go to these buildings when it begins to storm; if the sirens are sounding, it is too late to seek other shelter. Unfortunately, taking pets into approved storm shelters is strongly discouraged because it limits the space available for citizens seeking shelter.

Severe Weather Refuge Locations

The OSU-Stillwater campus has no public shelters. All severe weather refuge locations, highlighted in orange, are for the use of OSU students and employees.
