Medical Emergency


When you discover a medical emergency, you should:

  • Dial 911 and report the situation and your location.
  • When reporting the emergency, provide the following information:
    • Type of emergency
    • Location of the victim
    • Condition of the victim
    • Any dangerous conditions present
  • If you call 911 from a cell phone, be ready to give the street address.
  • Have someone stand outside the building to flag down EMS when they arrive.
  • Use your first aid training until emergency responders arrive.
  • Once the victim has been cared for or transported, follow normal worker injury reporting procedures.
