Medical Emergency
When you discover a medical emergency, you should:
- Dial 911 and report the situation and your location.
- When reporting the emergency, provide the following information:
- Type of emergency
- Location of the victim
- Condition of the victim
- Any dangerous conditions present
- If you call 911 from a cell phone, be ready to give the street address.
- Have someone stand outside the building to flag down EMS when they arrive.
- Use your first aid training until emergency responders arrive.
- Once the victim has been cared for or transported, follow normal worker injury reporting procedures.
