Oklahoma State is committed to keeping the Cowboy family safe. In 2014, the university
launched the SafeWalk program, employing and training students as public service officers
to escort anyone from one campus location to another from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., seven
days a week.
If you would like a SafeWalk outside the hours of 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., request one. The
OSUPD has officers on duty around the clock. They’ll be happy to walk with you to
your next on-campus destination or to Greek housing, but the timing could depend on
the call volume at the time. To request a SafeWalk, call 405-744-6523 or use the Rave Guardian app, your personal safety resource. (Don’t have Rave Guardian
downloaded to your phone? Learn more here.)
When they’re not providing a SafeWalk, the PSOs work in pairs and patrol the campus
on foot, providing additional security. Students interested in becoming a PSO should
go to www.hireosugrads.com. For more information, contact Lt. Leah Storm at leah.storm@okstate.edu or 405-744-6523.
