Investigations

The OSU Investigations division investigates all crimes that occur within OSU Police jurisdiction. The main focus of our investigators is following up on reported crimes to identify responsible parties. 

 

Investigations typically end with charges being presented to the Payne County district attorney’s office. Investigators may also do internal investigations at the request of the chief of police. 

 

Investigators conduct all background checks for our new officers and employees. One investigator oversees the OSU Police evidence room and is in charge of logging in all evidence collected by the department and disbursing  the evidence after criminal proceedings are completed.
